Kelley Hutta
Head Instructor

  • 3rd Degree Black Belt – Sandan certified through USA Wado Federation

  • Certified Regional Judge for Kata and Kumite through USA National Karate-Do Federation

  • Trained in various forms of martial arts since 1990; Primary interest centered on the study Wado-Ryu and Wado-Kai Karate.

  • Additional training includes Shito-Ryu, Goju-Ryu, and fencing as well as various other competitive activities.

  • An active volunteer with Live Love – a local service organization helping the Chandler community with large international impact in Malawi and Liberia.

Mari Lancaster

  • Competed State and International tournaments

  • Gold, Silver and Bronze medal placings

  • Achieved Shodan (first degree black belt in 2016)

  • Achieved Nidan ( Second degree black belt in 2019)

  • Certified Regional Judge for Kata and Kumite through USA National Karate-Do Federation

Kelly Cartwright

  • Began my martial arts journey in 1985 studying Chinese Kempo

  •  Have trained and studied a variety of martial arts and self-defense systems

  •  Most notably, I achieved my First Dan in Taekwondo (ITF affiliate)

  •  Retired law enforcement 25 years, where I was a firearms instructor, force options instructor, response for active shooter instructor, and a member of the SWAT team for 12 years.

  •  Cmac Competition Team Coach

  • Certified Regional Judge for Kata and Kumite through USA National Karate-Do Federation

  • Serves as experienced mentor to other karate parents and guardians

  • Served as Booster Club President of Champion Foundation of Arizona: Chandler Chapter

  • Has been an integral part of organizing and leading the Chandler Martial Arts Elite Competition team locally and at out of state tournaments since 2011

  • Moved to the United States from London, England in 1995 and now enjoys being part of the Chandler community with her husband and son.

Our Facility

School History

Sensei Marlon Moore opened one of Arizona’s oldest karate schools under the original name of Arizona Wado Karate in 1976. The school originally was located in Mesa though it moved several times during the following decades in the Mesa, Tempe, Chandler area. In 2019 Arizona Wado Karate was renamed to Chandler Martial Arts Center.
